Over the centuries, the Manor has been the home of nuns, then the property of noble lines and finally, the home of the Hamelin family, for 427 years. It is a family house which in the early 80s was transformed into guest rooms and table d'hôtes. Today, the Manoir d'Hautegente is administered by Patrick and his Canadian wife, Marie-Josée. Hautegente has become a 4-star hotel with 17 rooms and a gourmet restaurant, while retaining the authenticity of the Manor of yesteryear.
